UCU Announces Deadlines for 2026/2027 Medicine and Law Intake
Uganda Christian University (UCU) has released a critical roadmap for its upcoming 2026/2027 academic year, setting strict deadlines for its most competitive flagship programs. The university, widely regarded for its “Total Man” philosophy and ethical training, has seen a 15% increase in applications compared to the previous year.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Rev. Prof. John Kitayimbwa, confirmed that the application window for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) and the Bachelor of Dental Surgery has officially closed. Pre-entry oral and written interviews for these candidates are scheduled to begin this week at the Mukono Main Campus.
For aspiring lawyers, the deadline for submitting applications for the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program is March 27, 2026. UCU remains one of the few institutions in Uganda that conducts its own rigorous pre-entry assessments to ensure that candidates possess the critical thinking and linguistic skills required for the legal profession.
“We are not just looking for the students with the highest points; we are looking for the students with the highest potential to lead with integrity,” Prof. Kitayimbwa noted. The university has also announced that it will continue its “Early Bird” discount for students who clear their functional fees before the semester starts in September. With the increasing competition for professional courses, UCU’s transparency in its admission process continues to make it a preferred destination for parents seeking a stable academic calendar.
